Call for Proposals to Host IASCL 2030

The IASCL conference lies at the heart of our international association. Every three years, we physically come together, not only to exchange ideas and share research through posters and presentations, but also to celebrate our community in an embodied experience—through lively conversations, rich local immersion, shared meals, laughter, and friendships that help weave lasting research collaborations. Hosting such a meeting is a wonderful way to keep IASCL vibrant, engaged, and close-knit—while shining a light on the scholarship and culture of your region. We are currently seeking proposals to host IASCL 2030.

To make it happen, you’ll need:

  • a dynamic team of child language scholars at your university or in your region who are excited and happy to work together in welcoming our community,

  • an adequate venue to host the various formats of our activities, as well as

  • the support of your institution and its governance.

The experience is both challenging and rewarding: it takes dedication, but it also offers the joy of bringing the IASCL community together in a unique way and of strengthening our academic bonds. We especially encourage members from regions that have not yet hosted an IASCL conference to consider this opportunity. But of course, those from regions that have hosted before are also welcome—you can build on the experience of previous organizers and make IASCL 2030 your own.

If you are interested, please don’t wait until you have a full proposal—just reach out to us! We can share a detailed handbook full of advice, and you will have the support of the whole IASCL board to prepare the conference (https://www.childlanguage.org/officers).

You can also submit a full proposal if you are ready.

Let’s make IASCL 2030 another unforgettable celebration of our field, our community, and our friendships.
